A unique story of a manifesto written in 1975 by communist surrealist artists who had emigrated from the East to the West. The text is written against especially Arab, but really against every type of nationalism, religion, and all the kinds of junk of the capitalist civilization. It’s especially important that the people behind it were revolutionary defeatists, neither pro-Palestine, nor pro-Israel; they stood against all types of patriotism, contrasting it with the communist revolution in a provocatively poetic way that still has an impact today. We have written an introduction and critique to all this, and over 2-3 pints of beer we will conjure the wings of the Stormy Petrel in the Viennese night!

🔥The cops in the streets, the catcalling, the cis dudes staring. But even in leftist and autonomous spaces the “I am the feminist” dudes, macker Bois, mansplaining masters, the exclusion through reproducing binary unreflected stereotypes, the “expert boys” to “expert boys” talks and also sadly different forms of verbal and emotional aggressions.
Those are just a few things that make our FLINTA* rage grow every day.
🔥What can we do to feed our radical feminist joy and organize together in our day to day struggles?
🔥In a loose continuation of “Radical Gossip” workshop held in summer, we want to give a space to questions, ideas and sharing a nice time together.
🔥Our hope is to create a community that can support each other’s ideas and to start regular meetings to provide a space for different forms of organizing. We want to think about how the EKH spaces can be used as a platform for queer and feminist events, actions and voices.

Vortrag & Diskussion: Repression gegen Antifas im Budapest-Komplex
Der Budapest-Komplex stellt derzeit einen der größten Repressionsschläge gegen Antifaschist:innen in Deutschland dar. Während Tobi in Ungarn im Knast sitzt, wurde nun auch Maja an den faschistoiden Staat ausgeliefert. Auch Hanna droht weiterhin eine Auslieferung nach Ungarn. Weitere Beschuldigte werden per Öffentlichkeitsfahndung gesucht, ihre Umfelder drangsaliert und überwacht. Als Grundlage dient wieder einmal der Paragraph 129 Strafgesetzbuch. Dabei wird das Drohszenario Ungarn immer wieder durch deutsche Ermittlungsbehörden ausgenutzt, und versucht Genoss:innen zu Geständnissen und Verrat zu bringen. Unser Vortrag soll einen Überblick über die Geschehnisse des letzten Jahres in Deutschland, Italien und Ungarn geben, wie der Komplex medial aufgegriffen wurde, womit sich Betroffene derzeit konfrontiert sehen und was eine solidarische Linke tun kann.

Offenes Organizing Treffen (IWW)
Wie geht es uns in der Arbeit? Wie kommen wir darüber mit Kolleg*innen ins Gespräch? Wie können wir uns mit ihnen gemeinsam organisieren, um unsere Situation zu verbessern? Wie können wir eine Betriebsgruppe aufbauen? Welche Methoden funktionieren in unseren Betrieben und welche nicht? Was können wir aus Fehlern lernen und in Zukunft besser machen? Auf diese und viele andere Fragen versuchen wir, im lockeren Rahmen gemeinsam Antworten zu finden. Das offene Organizing Treffen findet jeden ersten Dienstag im Monat ab 18 Uhr im Volxklub Ottakring (Familienplatz 6 / 1160 Wien) statt und ist offen für alle Interessierten, egal ob IWW-Mitglied oder nicht.

🔥 What do we, FLINTA and victims/survivors of sexualized and other forms of patriarchal violence, need to feel empowered, acknowledged and respected in leftist spaces? How can such spaces stop falling on the perpetuation of such violence which force so many of us to leave scene after scene?
🔥 To speak up is not easy for the community reactions. Silence is violence, lack of a response or putting all weight on the affected persons is too. But are all actions taken having its basis on the restoration of the damage? Is the transformation of the community addressed? Are we happy with the current state of patriarchal violence management in our circles?
🔥 Let’s join together to compile all won battles, analize what we need from our circles and what could our community do better. We’ll use that to create a zine/manifesto to show clear clues on how we want patriarchal violence to be dealt, so no leftist space can continue missing them!
🔥 Besides that, there will be again a space for any new radical or creative feminist ideas we might need.
🔥 Let’s be creative to become a collective threat to the patriarchy in our circles without compromising our mental health on the process. Let’s take our speech and space back!

“The story of punk rock singer Laura Jane Grace of Against Me! who came out as a woman in 2012, and other members of the trans community whose experiences are woefully underrepresented and misunderstood in the media.”
Die Doku beleuchtet die Leben von Trans* Personen aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln, zeigt die Schwierigkeiten und Probleme aber auch wie befreiend und positiv ein Coming-out bzw. die Transition sein kann. Auch zeigt sie, welches Potential eine progressive Punkszene haben kann.
Die Doku ist zwar schon 10 Jahre alt, aber vielleicht auch gerade deshalb spannend. Denn um diese Zeit hat die positive Repräsentation von Trans* Menschen in der Öffentlichkeit und Medien merklich zugenommen oder vielleicht auch erst richtig angefangen? Was hat sich seit damals geändert? Zum positiven? Zum Schlechten?

The documentary sheds light on the lives of trans* people from different angles, showing the difficulties and problems but also how liberating and positive coming out or transitioning can be. It also shows the potential that a progressive punk scene can have.
The documentary is already 10 years old, but perhaps that’s why it’s so intriguing. Because it was around this time that the positive representation of trans* people in public and in the media increased noticeably, or perhaps it was only just beginning? What has changed since then? For the better? For the worse?
